Great piece, Tim. You say you're a chronic over-worker who's prone to anxiety and burnout . . . I can relate. I'm ambitious and driven by SMART goals. And often, I'll overwork myself and get burnt out. It's a nasty cycle that gets in my head and makes me think things like, "I don't have what it takes to see this through to the end."

Instead, it sounds like I should follow the 85% rule. I can give 85% most days, and when I do that, I feel accomplished and more relaxed.

Right now, I'm about halfway through a course about mastering Medium.com, and with each lesson comes more tasks to do each week - or every day! It's getting to be overwhelming. So, I sat down yesterday and made a list of all the tasks that are suggested in the course. Then, I crossed out half of them. Because I just can't do it all right now. But if I can give 85% to my top 3 or 4 priorities, that would be great! I'd rather do that than give 50% to 10 priorities.
