Fabulous article, Ricky! I also tend to oversleep or sleep during the afternoons when I'm feeling depressed. And I used to be so hard on myself about it.
Then my therapist encouraged me to do what you write about here - instead of catastrophizing and making the situation worse, I've learned to be kind to myself and reframe it so that it doesn't have to ruin my whole day.
You're a great writer. You really captured the ups and downs of depressive thinking in this piece. And your tips are helpful. Thanks for sharing!
